The National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) must officially declare a recession that includes at least one month in calendar year 2026. Alternatively, if NBER has not ruled by March 2027, resolves YES if US real GDP contracts for two consecutive quarters within 2026 per BEA advance estimates.
